Sandra Cantu Case

Everyone knows about what happened to Sandra Cantu in Tracy. Right now, they have arrested Melissa Huckaby for her murder. If her charges stand and she is convicted, do you believe she should get the dealth penalty for what she has done? I believe she should because doing what she did to an 8 year old girl, shows no regard at all for her. I can't understand how you can kill another person's child when you have one of the age. The thing that really disturbs me in this case, is the fact she raped her with a foreign object. That is what the tipping point was for me in deciding she should get the death penalty.

  1. I agree that she should be given the death penalty or life without parole. Though we know most of the events that happened in the murder of Sandra Cantu, I still want to know what her motive was. Considering she has a daughter who was a friend of Sandra Cantu and was a playmate of hers. Why would she murder a girl who was a close friend of her daughter's?

  2. I disagreed because my opinion is that no one should get the death panalty even thought she took away and a live. I feel that she should be punish in another way beause tyhat way she can realize what she has done. I am also thinking of her daughter of how people are going to tell her that her mother has been convited and is going to be killed. I would want her daughter to find out that her mom has made a crime and that she is still her mom, and is going to be their.

  3. I agree with Angelica. Nobody should ever recieve the death penalty. Nobody has the right to take away someone else's life. If they do, they are just as bad. It was horrible to kill the little girl, but they should not kill her. They should just keep her in jail for life, because it is worse than killing someone. It would be torture to live in jail and not be able to do anything about it. It would suck to know that you will be there until you die, so jail is worse than the death penalty. Giving her the death penalty would be making it easy for her because they would just get it over with. They should torture her!!!!

  4. I don't believe in the death penalty also. I believe they should just keep her in jail and it will be torture for her just being in jail thinking on what she did to the little girl. Also, it is cheaper for someone to just go to jail in life than the trial for getting the death penalty.Even after she killed a little innocent girl I still don't believe anyone should get the death penalty

  5. melissa huckaby is being charged for the rape and murder of sandra cantu. any person that can do soemthing like this to a child is just completely insane. children are the most inncoent human beings and sandra cantu was a little girl who did not deserve to die like this. she had her whole life ahead of her. although i do not believe in the death penalty, melissa huckaby should get life in prison. she should be found guilty and not be given any mercy for the crime she committed.

  7. I agree with Jaime. Guilt is something that follows a person constantly. If the smallest guilt can bother someone, a crime as big and horrible as hers would clearly do much more. By condeming her to life in prision, she is going to suffer more than she would if she was put to death. Though I usually don't condone the suffering of anyone, she is someone who definitely deserves a severe punishment (in my opinion).

  8. I still am not sure with the death penlety for it or against it. I do believe She should be punished. I would like to see what was goin through this ladies mind when she was killing this precious 8 year old girl. This is a tragedy and she will get punished for whatshe did

  9. I believe that she should get life in prison without the chance of parole. She committed an atrocious crime against a child. Only someone completely heartless could kill a child when they had one about the same age. Although giving her the death penalty would give Sandra's family closure, it would be hypocritical to kill her. I also heard somewhere (but I may be wrong) that it's less expensive to keep someone for life in prison than it is to give them the death penalty. In this way, she would suffer more in prison, and it would be financially preferable for the state or country.
